Micromax Andro A60 now launched, Android 2.1 with 2.8-inch touchscreen for Rs. 6,999

Update: Micromax has released the Andro A60 for Rs. 6,999, and you can expect it to hit major retail stores over the next few days. Official specifications remain much the same, and we're pretty sure that its present price will make it hot item off the shelves.

With all the talk going around it seems that Micromax, the largest of the country’s mobile brands, has decided to launch an Android handset, thus joining Videocon, Spice and Olive and offering Google’s mobile operating system in India, apart from foreign brands like LG and Samsung.

Called the Andro A60, Micromax’s rumoured Android 2.1-based mobile was spotted at a Micromax Delhi Bloggers event, and possesses a 600 MHz processor along with a 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen and a 3.2MP camera with auto focus. The phone’s expected Rs. 8,000 price and specifications put it firmly in the same class as the Samsung Galaxy 5 and Spice Mi-300
